A Business Loan 一笔商业贷款

A businessman walked into a bank in San Francisco and asked for the loan officer. He told the officer that he is going to Europe on business for two weeks and needed to borrow $5,000.

一个生意人走进旧金山的一家银行要找信贷员。他告诉信贷员他为一笔生意要到欧洲两个星期，需要借贷5000美元。

The bank officer explained that the bank needed some kind of security for such a loan. So the businessman handed over the keys to a Rolls Royce parked on the street in front of the bank. Everything checked out, and the bank agreed to accept the car as collateral for the loan. A bank employee drove the Rolls into the bank's underground garage and parked it there.

这位银行职员解释说这样的贷款银行必须要有抵押的。生意人将停在银行前面街上的一辆劳斯莱斯的钥匙交给他。一切都检查过了，银行同意接受这辆车为贷款抵押。一位银行职工将劳斯车开到银行的地下停车场里停了。

Two weeks later, the businessman returned, repaid the $5,000 with interest, which came to $15.41.

两个星期以后，这位生意人回来了，还了5000美元的贷款附加利息，15元41美分。

The loan officer said, "We are very happy to have had your business, and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled. While you were away, we checked you out and found that you are a multimillionaire. What puzzles us is why would you bother to borrow $5,000?"

信贷员说，“我们很高兴和你做成这笔生意，这笔交易做的很好，但我们有点疑问。你走了以后，我们查了你一下发现你是个百万富翁。我们想不透你为何不嫌麻烦来借5000块钱？”

The businessman replied, "Where else in San Francisco can I park my car for two weeks for only 15 bucks?"

生意人回答,“在旧金山我还能在哪里停两个星期的车才花15块钱？”
